Alexia de Macar
PhD, RD
Registered dietitian since 2005, with a Doctorate in Nutrition, I've been working in several high-level sports and artistic environments for nearly 20 years. Passionate about science, the world of performance, human behaviour and the relationship with food, my professional expertise is a perfect blend of my fields of interest and the experience I've acquired over the years.
Longstanding collaborations
Conferences
Given my many years of experience in the field, I'm regularly invited to share my knowledge at sporting, scientific and corporate events. As an experienced and dynamic speaker, I pride myself on delivering presentations that are renowned for their quality content—content that is both pragmatic and concrete, and always based on the latest scientific data.
Conferences are offered either in person or virtually, and are most notably intended for corporate settings, sports/arts organizations (and their stakeholders), athletes, coaches and health professionals.
Consultation
Since the beginning of my career, I have accompanied, guided and supported athletes and performing artists at all levels and in a variety of disciplines. Respect and kindness have always been a guiding force in my interventions. Although the principles of nutrition and exercise physiology are based on science, it is important to keep in mind that each individual is in control of his or her own body. As such, adopting a personalized, trauma-informed approach is at the heart of my values when it comes to providing consultation services.
Supervision
For several years, I have also offered professional supervision to my dietitian colleagues, sharing my knowledge and expertise in the field of eating disorders. This learning environment is a perfect complement to continuing education, and is very dear to my heart. Whether it is conducted one-on-one or in small groups, supervision creates an environment conducive to sharing, discussing and exchanging ideas in an atmosphere of respect and confidentiality.
